For the classification of CNC lathes according to the use of processing technology, there are four types, namely metal cutting, metal forming, special processing, measurement, drawing, etc., and have their unique functions, which are described in detail as follows.
Metal cutting
Refers to CNC lathes that use various cutting techniques such as turning, milling, boring, drilling, grinding, planing, and gear processing. It is divided into the following two categories.
(1) Ordinary CNC machine tools
This type of CNC machine tools are the same as traditional general-purpose machine tools, including lathes, milling machines, drilling machines, boring machines, grinders, etc., and their craftsmanship is similar to general-purpose machine tools.
(2) Machining center machine tool
The machining center machine tool is a CNC machine tool with an automatic tool changer. It is characterized by a tool magazine with an automatic tool change mechanism. Through automatic tool change, the workpiece can be automatically and continuously placed on a machine tool after one clamping. Multi-process processing such as milling, boring, drilling, reaming, and tapping on each processing surface of the workpiece. Commonly used are boring and milling machining centers that mainly process box-shaped parts and turning centers that can almost complete all processes of various rotary parts.
Now, some complex machining CNC machine tools concentrate multi-process, multi-blade, and complex process processing in one device.
